2014 MRRL Voting Results

MRRL's 2014 vote ended at the stroke of midnight on June 1st.  Benny & The Jets from Detroit finshed in first by a wide margin in the popular vote for the online Hall of Fame.  The Chentelles from Fennville, MI, finished second; Michael Katon from Hell, MI, came in third; and Detroit's Marshall Crenshaw was fourth in the balloting.


Ten more Legendary Michigan Songs were voted in this year.  Topping the list was "Flamingo Express" by The Royaltones. Coming in second was "Talking In Your Sleep" by The Romantics.  Third was another Romantics' song, "One In A Million".  "East Side Story" by Bob Seger & The Last Heard was next, followed by "Baby Please Don't Go" by The Amboy Dukes, "Heavy Music Pt. 1" by Bob Seger & The Last Heard, "Village Of Love" by Nathaniel Mayer & The Fabulous Twilights, "1969" by The Stooges, "What Becomes Of The Brokenhearted" by Jimmy Ruffin, and "(Just Like) Romeo & Juliet" by The Reflections.


This years Honorary Inductee is band manager and record label owner Jim Leach.  MRRL's first Historical Inductee is Nathaniel Mayer, one of Fortune Records' great artists.
