Michigan Rock and Roll Legends and the Bay County Historical Society are proud to announce the newest additions to the MRRL Hall of Fame.
The 2025 inductees are: Dave ‘Baby’ Cortez, Jack and Devora Brown, The Verve Pipe, and Anthony Kiedis and Chad Smith. Dave ‘Baby’ Cortez was the first Michigan-born artist to have a # 1 instrumental hit on Billboard’s Hot 100 with “The Happy Organ” in 1959. Jack and Devora Brown founded Fortune Records, one of Detroit’s most important and influential independent record labels. The Verve Pipe is best-known for its recordings in the 1990s that included the band’s hit single, “The Freshmen,” and their Platinum album, “Villains.” Vocalist Anthony Kiedis and drummer Chad Smith are the two members with Michigan roots in the Red Hot Chili Peppers, one of the top-selling alternative bands of all time.
The Michigan Rock and Roll Legends Hall of Fame is also proud to announce its newest group of Legendary Michigan Songs. The 2025 inductees are: "Only Women Bleed" by Alice Cooper, "Finger Poppin' Time" by Hank Ballard & The Midnighters, "The Ballad of the Third Street Bridge" by George Heritier, "Get Ready" by The Temptations, and "What a Way to Die" by The Pleasure Seekers.
