“Seven Nation Army” (J. White) – The White Stripes; V2, XL, Third Man labels, # 76 Billboard Hot 100, # 1 Billboard Alternative Airplay chart – 2003. Inducted in 2024.

The White Stripes’ big hit single was the lead track from the duo’s 4th studio album, “Elephant.” Written and produced by Jack White, the song consists of distorted vocals, a simple drumbeat, and a bass line created by playing a guitar through a pitch effect.

“Seven Nation Army” charted in multiple countries in 2003, and its success contributed greatly to the popularity of the Detroit rock duo and the garage rock revival movement. The song also went on to win the Grammy Award for Best Rock Song.

Strangely enough, "Seven Nation Army" has become a sports anthem, commonly appearing in audience chants in which a series of "oh" sounds or the name of an athlete is sung to the tune of the song's riff. It has also served as a theme song for sports teams, personalities, and events all over the world, including the 2018 FIFA World Cup. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0J2QdDbelmY
