ROCK & ROLL PRESENTATIONS ON SECOND SATURDAYS
The Historical Museum of Bay County offers presentations on a wide variety of interesting topics dealing with Michigan history on the Second Saturday of each month. The presentations are free to the public but the museum asks that patrons call in advance at 989-893-5733 to reserve seats.
Dr. J has been the featured speaker on Second Saturdays when the subject is rock and roll history. His presentations have included: “96 Tears and the Schiell Recording Studio,” “Madonna Misconstrued in Bay City,” “The Boy Who Shot Buddy Holly (in color),” “The Battle of Mickey’s Big Bop,” “The Fake Zombies Scandal,” “Frankie Lymon’s Tombstone Blues,” and “The Birth of Michigan Rock and Roll Video Series.”

The MRRL Hall of Fame is located inside the Historical Museum of Bay County, at 321 Washington Avenue, Bay City, Michigan. Highlights include a Motown Time Capsule Video exhibit, our Inductee Wall of Fame, the legendary Frankie Lymon Tombstone, rock and roll posters, an assortment of autographed guitars, and displays featuring Alice Cooper, Madonna, ? and The Mysterians and much more.

ARTIFACTS AND INSTRUMENTS
The Michigan Rock and Roll Legends Hall of Fame in conjunction with the Historical Museum of Bay County is producing a unique series of videos that document the early history of rock and roll music in the state.
The Michigan Rock and Roll Legends Hall of Fame and the Bay County Historical Society are proud to announce our 2024 MRRL HOF inductees in both the Michigan Artist and Legendary Michigan Song categories.
The failure of their equipment to arrive in time for their first Michigan gig in the summer of 1967 led to a friendship between The Who and SRC and an offer for the Ann Arbor band to record for The Who's record label.
Once again, my longtime friend and fellow music lover, Larry Van Cleve and I have put together our annual lists of what we liked best from the past year. As usual, my list is in alphabetical order but this year I added something new – a section that recognizes some great recordings by Michigan artists.
